Helen & Philip with Bennachie in background

4 March 2010

A real winter wedding for Helen & Philip

It is official - 2010 has been the coldest winter in Scotland since 1962/63.  On a gloriously bright and crisp day in February, Helen & Philip had a superb day at the Macdonald Pittodrie House Hotel, near Inverurie for their wedding with family and friends.  The couple braved the cold and laying snow to allow Andrew Gransden to capture some stunning images with Bennachie or Mither Tap in the background. Helen wore pink wellies for the occasion!

The technically challenging shoots looking directly into the sun were achieved with Andrew's Nikon D3 DSLR with the outstanding 24-70mm 2.8G zoom lens and the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra battery-powered flash system.  The lens produced little in the way of flair and the Quadra is powerful enough to overcome the sun.
